Myths Busted

Slicks secret is out
We understood that Slick the Meatman had no grandchildren as yet, but during the Motogp the "young blokes" AKA Sam Chris & Drew took a shine to Slick & started calling him POP. They never let a chance go by... and even got to the stage of asking his permission before they did things.

This pic shows just how much they enjoyed taking the piss.

Brett takes the Championship

The scene was set. The championship contenders were sitting discussing the days riding and the difficulties of maintaining good times in the wet, windy conditions while their machines sat enticingly silent in the corner with the video screens showing glimpses of the challenges that lay ahead in the coming event
(ie the Anzac TT riders were in the dining room of the Tallangatta Hotel after surviving a cold, wet ride over the Australian Alps and the Sega Isle of Man TT ride game was sitting unused at the end of the room)
While the others were engrossed in their discussions, the champ hopped onto his machine and did a couple of quiet laps of the course. It was done very quietly and nobody took much notice of the times he was clocking.
(ie Brett finished his steak, found the required 2 dollar coin and had a go on the Sega bike)
After some discussion between the officials, the decision was made. Each rider would have a solo lap or two of the track, with their best time being recorded to determine the fastest rider and therefore the Champion – much the same as the way the Isle of Man TT is run.
(ie Davo told us what was going on)
And so it went on. After getting the feel for their unfamiliar machines, all riders did their run of the challenging course with times duly recorded. The expected gun riders were disappointed with their times and the more conservative riders were glad to complete the course without serious crashes.
As the session progressed, some surprises occurred. Young Barti, generally known as a conservative rider, clocked a brilliant best lap of 1 minute 07 seconds and the assembled crowd gave him a hearty round of applause. This gave some discomfort to the acknowledged road riding guns who were struggling to better 1.12 or 1.13. Soon after, a second dark horse emerged in the form of Davo who clocked a very credible 1.08 despite looking very uncomfortable on the lean forward sport bike he was riding in the event. Luckily there were photos taken that will be made available to all to see.
Davo’s discomfort was only matched by the big fella Lex. If only the camera had been out to catch Lex’s disappointment of not managing to complete a single lap before his allotted time was up. The finish line was within sight but the clamour of the assembled throng was not enough to prevent Lex’s machine coming to a dead stop only metres from the line.
After more riders made attempts to improve their times, not always successfully, the acknowledged hard charger, Slick, climbed aboard his machine for the first time. While his time was excellent, he didn’t manage to assume top step on the podium. That position continued to be held by the ever humble Barti.
But Slick wasn’t content with anything less that Number 1. So, in the absence of a worthwhile sponsor to fund his championship campaign, (ie the $20 JB had put up to fund the event had run out) Slick dug deep into his own pocket to find the required funds for a final run at the title (ie he found 2 bucks).
With the required funds available, Slick reset the standard for the night by surviving into a fifth lap of the circuit (before his money ran out), the only rider to get that far and lowered the course record to 1.05, thereby stepping to the top of the podium.
However, things were about to take a surprising turn. The future champ was quietly watching his opponents experience the highs and lows of good and not so good lap times. It seemed that he was content to allow the lesser mortals to fight among themselves for the glory of the event. But after a chorus of entreaties (ie “Aw c’mon Brett. Have a go”) and like the great champions that we have seen in recent times who come out and rip off an amazing timed lap to place themselves at the head of the grid, the champ strode to his machine for only his second ride of the session. He wrapped his long frame around the way too small machine, settled himself in and proceeded to blitz the course and every other hopeful with a blistering lap time of 1.03. Even the hugely disappointed Slick was happy to admit that he’d been beaten fairly by a better rider on the night.
But nobody could take away the diminutive Barti’s glory of his unexpected third position on the podium.

Old Ducati's ARE indeed faster than a modern Triumph
New photographic evidence has emerged that proves an old Old Ducati, in the right hands, can outscore a modern motorcycle. This pic shows an 83 MHR, ridden by a chap with obvious talent!, whizzing underneath a poorly ridden Speed Triple at turn 9 Eastern Creek.

Please note that there is no evidence of photoshop tampering!

Maintainence
How many blokes does it take to check the oil and wipe a tyre with dirt on a TRX?......I count eleven!! Now any normal bike perhaps one maybe two...But TRX's are pretty tricky I have heard.

Rain & Motorcycles
Contrary to popular opinion, when you buy a new Moto Guzzi it does not control the weather nor stop the rain!!

Heritage & Genetics
Just because he looks funny doesnt really mean that he has middle eastern relatives..... nor does it imply any type of religious denomination....like  being known as "Sister Slick" or something
